Wizard Of Oz The Musical London
Wizard of OZ the musical is set to begin, all guns firing, in the West End. The screenplayhas been taken from the super hit 1939 movie and has been given a full revamp for theatre to give a presentation that is nothing short of enchanting.
The setting of the story is the Land of OZ and the setting of the musical is the Palladium Theatre. It has cost the Palladium a £4 million facelift to prepare it for the musical. Andrew Lloyd Weber, the owner of the Palladium Theatre has already called for a longer preview run to be able to perfect everything about the musical. It is probably Weber’s greatest production to date and so you would not be surprised to know that Wizard of OZ ticketshave already scored advanced sales of over £8.5 million.
The cast is as powerful as the theatre and Weber’s passions. The musical makes quite a perfect use of London’s acting talents to bring the best of theWizard of OZ for audiences. Here is an interesting presentation for the cast of The Wizard of OZ.
Special mention must be made of the music, sets and choreography going behind the scenes to bring the Land of OZ alive for us at the Palladium.
Any powerful story dies without a good creative team to bring it to stage correctly. Who could have been better to choreograph this musical except, Arlene Philips. She has masterminded legendary performances likeFlashdance, The Sound of Music, Grease, We Will Rock You, Jesus Christ Superstar and A Clockwork Orange. Some scenes are so beautifully and perfectly choreographed that the audience gets the feeling of being in a cinema watching a silver screen movie.
You will be stunned by the witches which fly high and low on the stage, up the roof and down. The Cowardly Lion will scare you but the flying monkeys summoned by the Golden cap will put your heart in your throat. The magnificent Emerald City, the Wizard’s castle, the forests and the mesmerizing yellow brick road will make you travel to the distant land. It is doubtless that the Wizard Of OZ at the Palladium is the most gratifying and probably the best illustration of L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Visit of OZ.
It is an obligation on every theatre lover to buy Wizard of OZ tickets!

The Wizard of Oz – our first visit to a theatre. We all agreed that the star performer was the dog! We sang Yellow Brick Wall all the way home on the train to our small Yorkshire village." Posted By Michael Schofield, Brigantes on 8th August 2011
